Bored of the normal way of looking at designer’s collections? Well have I got news for you! FashionLab have launched the Julien Fournié Haute Couture Showroom, an interactive online experience that allows your little fashionista avatar to walk around the ‘showroom’ and have a look at the collection.
The concept arose after the designer initially began using 3D virtual tools to help design his collections faster and more efficiently. Now he is looking to display and promote his clothes in this new and innovative way. Julien himself designed the showroom himself, imaginging the layout, design and atmosphere he wanted to create for his virtual ‘world’.
Not only can you have a ‘wander’, but you can also interact with several other visitors who are also in the showroom, or even Julien himself! So it’s a little bit like Habbo Hotel for really stylish people.

It’s an interesting idea, and I can see the appeal, but I think, for now, I’m gonna have to stick to good old fashioned magazines. Nothing beats the thrill of flicking through a collection printed on lovely glossy pages. But then again, I am a bit of a technophobe. Nevertheless, for those who revel in the thought of being able to view collections, and potentially even tell the designer himself what they love about it, then this is for you, my modern friends.
