Daisy Lowe is the latest celebrity to team up with the high street and create a collection. She has been working with value fashion retailer Peacocks to design a line of swimsuits.
Daisy, Model, 22 is known for her unique sense of style she knows how to set a trend and make it stick. Her good looks and slim figure has taken her from the streets of Camden to the cover of various magazines. Not only does she ooze enough sex appeal to be featured on the cover of men’s magazine GQ but she also shows how diverse she can be when she was on the cover of I-D magazine. She has also had connections with fashion labels such as Marc by Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton and she is taking her love for fashion to the next level by creating her own collection.
Her four piece collection consists of a selection of flirty bikinis, swimsuits and sexy shorts. For her first line Daisy draws inspiration from the French Riviera in the fifties embracing curvier women like Sophia Loren and pin up queen Bettie Page.
Daisy wants her selection to reach the masses; she wants it to be available to customers on a budget, “It was important from the start that my designs were accessible so my friends could afford them which is why we’ve kept the collection under £18.” She said
The swimwear will come in sizes from eight to sixteen and cup sizes 32B to 36DD they will be available in selected Peacocks stores and online as of next month.
Although all the designs are inspired by Daisy’s love of “family holidays in Europe iconic fifties pin ups and classic vintage shapes” they each have their own unique style sprinkled with the Daisy Lowe magic.
Daisy will follow in the footsteps of her singer-songwriter mother who has also designed various sell-out collections for Peacocks.
A lot of girls repel the thought of becoming just like their mother’s but that is not the case when it comes to Daisy she couldn’t dream of anything better “my mum is my style icon.” said Daisy.
Pearl will continue her spring summer 2011 vintage inspired tea dress collection set to launch in April but she shows that there is no competition between them, “I’m so proud of Daisy’s collection whatever she puts her hand to she turns into a success” she said.
Just like her mother said everything Daisy does works out to be a success. We have seen her on our T.V. and in our magazines so now let’s see how much success she has as a designer.
